Driveway Design

No many people realize it, but the driveway design has a lot to do with the value of your home. When you consider installing a new driveway, you have to think about how you want the landscaping to look. For example, you can line the driveway with flower beds or make it a shady area with trees on each side. Ground covering is another option as are walls on which you can install solar lighting. Walls can either line the driveway or form a gate at the end.

Whichever landscaping design you choose depends on what image you want the driveway to project. Do you want it to just accent the entrance or do you want it to run the entire length of the driveway? If you have a long driveway, this could be quite costly. If your budget is not an issue, then you certainly do have limitless options. You need to think of where you want people to look first or which features of the property you want to emphasize.

Planting beds of flowers along the sides of the driveway will accentuate the lawn and whatever is at the end of the driveway. This is usually a garage, but it could be your front door or your patio. If you do have a focal point in the garden, such as a waterfall, then flower beds will lead visitors to gaze in that direction.

Depending on where you live, you may need to have an entrance gate. If you do live in an urban area, then theft is usually higher than in rural areas. For this reason, you may need to have a gate installed at the end of the driveway.
